11 Power Thoughts to a Transformed New Year

Gratefully signing out of 2014 and ringing in to 2015. My birthday was a few weeks ago and as I reflect on this past year, it feels like a whirlwind that flashed before my eyes. While journaling tonight, I wrote out all of the blessings that fell upon me this year and thanked God for spoiling me with so many girly desires of my heart. Frivolous desires that He didn’t have to grant me, but he did because he loves me passionately. Moreso, I BELIEVE he loves me passionately. His goodness is so humbling and I wondered why he is so good to me. I realized that I rarely restrict Him with doubt that He wants to shower me with his surprises. I expect My God to follow through on His Word because I believe his promises. I believe he wants to do the same for you too.

I know many of you have lost hope and possibly feel forgotten by God. Maybe this has caused you to lose faith in His promises and to turn away from his power, relying on your own strength. But God says to, “return to me and I will return to you.” Some people believe that God causes hardships in our life and that we shouldn’t expect him to bring relief to our problems. Truthfully, if that is what you believe, how can you expect anything different to manifest?

My husband had plans to be married with children by the time he was at least 30. So when he was 35 and he still hadn’t met his future wife, you can imagine his discouragement. But he held fast to the promises of our God that said, “For I have plans to prosper you and to not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11. He filled his life with pursuing goals, volunteering and serving his friends in the meantime. He was 36 when we met. He was glad he didn’t rush God’s timing.

If you want to start seeing different results in your life, you’ve got to have a different mindset. How can you end the cycle of discouragement and re-claim your glorious life? Before you set foot into 2014, shed all of your negative thoughts, habits and words from your spirit and bury it deep into 2013. God says that you have been made new. “If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” 2 Corinthians 5:17. Therefore, you’ve got to align yourself, your words and your actions with what He says about you. Declare that you believe who he says you are, what he says you can do and that he always draws near to you when you draw near to him.

Here are 11 declarations rooted in scripture to speak over your New Year. Discover who God says you are, his promises for you, that he is a loving God and will come to your rescue every time…in His perfect timing.

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.” 2 Timothy 3:16

1. God is redeeming my past and doing a new, exciting work in me.

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness
Isaiah.” 43:18-19

2. I am fearless because my God’s supernatural protection is with me.
“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.” Isaiah 43:2

3. I will soar and prosper because I have renewed hope in my God.
“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall;31 but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40: 29-31

4. When I abide in Him, I want for nothing.
“Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” Psalm 37:4

5. I go boldly to God because He is always waiting for me to reach out to him.

“For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” Matthew 7:8

6. I trust on God’s perfect timing and believe that he directs my steps and decisions.

“Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6

7. I am a purposeful, God-breathed creation.
“I chose you before I formed you in the womb; I set you apart before you were born.” Jeremiah 1:5.

8. The King of the World wants to know my heart because I am chosen.
“I reach out for You. I thirst for You as parched land thirsts for rain.” (Psalm 143.6)

9. I never worry because I believe God always has my back.
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me.” John 14:1

10. I have all I need in order to defeat any hardship that comes against me right inside of me.
“You have been given the fullness of Christ. He is the head over every power and authority.” Colossians 2:10.

11. I declare this year, I will have overwhelming victory in all areas of my life.
“In all these things, we are more than conquerors through Him who loves us.” Romans 8:37

Eliminate the negative from your life because God wants to do a new work in you now. Replace them with these truths by speaking them out loud to yourself in the morning and even throughout the day. Speak it to believe it in order to conceive it! Start to see the power of Your Father melt the icicles that have frozen your light into redeeming freedoms disguised in enchanting surprises.

If this message blessed your heart, be a blessing by sharing with others.
