For years, my friends have been telling me I should go to Coachella. To be honest, I never had the desire. I didn’t even knew what it was all about, other than it involved the desert, live music, and big crowds.
I’ve been feeling more adventurous lately, so this year Kris and I decided to embark on the experience. We also thought it would be good motivation for us to get our bodies in great shape.
It didn’t take long for me to realize that Coachella is more than a music festival…it’s a fashion show. Everyone I talked to expressed the serious importance for my outfits to be on point. Most girls had planned their outfits months in advance. I could feel anxiety start to rise inside. For me, shopping and planning outfits is not a fun process. I loathe it.
When I followed the suggestions to look up Coachella outfits on pinterest, I saw that the consistent qualities were boho and a lot of skin.
I get it, it’s going to be hot, and you have to dress accordingly. But, it’s possible to maintain a little mystery and elegance in doing so.
There’s another weekend of Coachella left, so if you need some guidance in packing for the weekend. I put together some looks for you from weekend one.
I absolutely love long dresses. Don’t let the style stereotype of Coachella make you feel like you have to dress like someone you aren’t. Take your style and jazz it up a little with a boho chic feel. I loved this Tolani dress because the fabric was lightweight and breathable. The vibrant colors and pattern were perfectly boho with a little mediterranean royalty mixed in.
I wore my hair in a top knot because it was dirty from the dust and then finished it with this jeweled head band from forever 21. I completed the look with this edgy, yet simple statement necklace.
Even though Forever 21 can be really overwhelming to shop in, it has some fabulous and inexpensive finds for an event. I got this pretty, ivory dress for $20 and donned a choker, long necklace and flowered headband.
This was another Tolani dress I loved! It’s beautiful, trendy, and super comfortable which is important when you are running around the grounds all day. It also kept me just as cool as a swimsuit would. I got two pair of colorfully beaded cuffs and wore them pretty much all weekend. They went with everything!
I am usually not a huge accessories girl, but I was this weekend. I bought four pair of cheap sunglasses at H&M. Mainly because I didn’t know which ones were cool or looked good on me. It’s a pretty big deal I’m wearing these frames with colored lens. I usually stick to neutrals, but rocking color was fun.
I hope this helps! Have fun being classy at Coachella. Remember, you’re a queen!
