Ladies, So You Wanna Marry a 10?

so you wanna

Ladies, I am on your side. I believe women are the crown of creation. After all, God was only satisfied when He breathed the representation of femininity into life and named her Eve, meaning “source of life.” The beauty and nature we carry is highly needed in this world because we are naturally relational, bringing comfort and deep understanding wherever we are called.

The quote, “behind every great man is a greater woman” is famous for a reason, because it’s true. There has not been one single US President who didn’t have a wife beside him. And not just any wife, but a great one.

For example:

One of our greatest presidents, Ronald Reagan wrote love letters to his wife, Nancy expressing his gratitude for the unending support & self-confidence she gave him. One read, “…I would be totally lost and desolate without you.”John and Jacqueline Kennedy are one of the most iconic, well-liked White House couples in history. Through embracing her talent for style, she renovated the White House into a display of fashion, design and art.

“He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the LORD.” Proverbs 18:22

“Her husband is respected at the city gate, where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.” Proverbs 31:23

There are so many other examples I could list. But to the point, if we want to marry a 10, we ourselves must be a 10. Hopefully, you already understand I am not referring to our outward appearance. Although, if we radiate joyful and kind energy, we will typically wear that expression on our faces as well. And as we all know but often forget, like attracts like.

“You will always reproduce the environment around you that you cultivate within you.” Kris Vallotton, Supernatural Ways of Royalty.

So how do you become a 10? How do you become the woman that will attract goodness and great love without having to search for it? Here are 9 aspects of our being that make up the well rounded.

1. Eyes: “The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light, but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness.” Matthew 6:22

People say that your eyes are the windows to your soul. But you get to choose what you allow into your soul through your eyes. You get to choose the filter in which you see people, circumstances and yourself. Does your vision automatically take in the negative, suspicious and critical aspects? Or do they see through the lens of compassion? A great woman sees  herself as a 10 because that is how her Creator sees her. When she agrees that she is a masterpiece and carries herself with respect, it will be much easier to treat others with respect. See yourself as a 10.

2. Ears: “Listen to advice and accept instruction, that you may gain wisdom in the future.” Proverbs 19:20

Be quick to listen to truth, instruction and knowledge because then you will ultimately be wise. God gave us two ears and one mouth, which shows us the importance of listening intently. Sincerely listening to someone means you aren’t thinking about what you are going to say next while they’re talking. It means you are taking in what is being said with no judgment or bias in order to make room for deep understanding. The ability to make someone feel understood is rare and one of the most liberating gifts to give a person. Practice listening with sincerity and without judgement so you can easily give a deep level of understanding to your future husband. Also, practice listening to and hearing from God. What is he saying? Sometimes, our prayers become a one-sided conversation. Choose to hear the good in what others say and don’t give power to the negative. Listen like a 10.

3. Lips:”Death and life are in the power of the tongue and those who love its use will eat its fruit.” Proverbs 18:21

Are you an encourager? A speaker of truth, excellence and everything lovely? People may not remember exactly what you said, but they will remember how you made them feel. The words that come out of your mouth reflect the content of your heart. They are the evidence of your inner beauty. I am not speaking about charm and flattery, I am talking about intentionally setting your heart and mind on hope and joy, so in turn your words will be like sweet music to a person’s ear. When you start to make kind, uplifting words a regularly habit, it will be second nature to be a source of empowerment to your future husband. Speak like a 10.

4. Body: “Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own.” 1 Corinthians 6:19

Your body is a gift, it’s actually not even yours. It belongs to the King of the Universe who gifted it in order for you to carry His perfect plans and promises for your life. When something so wondrous as the human body has been given to you, the least you can do is honor it. As a matter of fact, it is so precious that the Lord refers to it as your temple. A temple is a holy and sacred place that is revered by all. Not only should we be consuming clean and healthy nutrients, but the way we present ourselves matters too. When someone gives you a really expensive gift that you didn’t earn or even ask for, you cherish it. Take pride is cherishing your temple. Present yourself in a manner that makes its’ Maker proud. Cherish your body as a 10.

5. Arms: “She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy.” Proverbs 31:20

A woman who is generous and loving carries everlasting and penetrating beauty. There is something so admirable about a woman who gives of herself selflessly. She has a special glow about her. Partly because she is serving and partly because of the joy that comes from implementing the gifts God gave her in order to enrich others. Her cup is full, she is so busy giving back and being where she is needed, that a missing husband reserves no space in her mind. And that is powerful. It is also when he will show up unexpectedly and cause her full cup to then overflow. Serve like a 10.

6. Hands: “Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her works praise her in the gates.” Proverbs 31:31

God placed a dream in your heart, probably even several dreams, each with different seasons. You are brilliant and talented, does the evidence in your life support that? When someone looks at your life, do they see the fruit of your action, faith and perseverance? If not, it’s time to get movin’ girlfriend. You are way too good to allow fear to stop you from living a full, satisfying life. It’s crucial to your well-being that you have your own identity before you can be someone’s other half. Persevere like a 10.

7. Feet: “How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God reigns!” Isaiah 52:7

What is the essence you carry? What is the energy people feel when you start talking to them. Do you allow people to feel comfortable because of your own self-assurance and peace? When I come home, I make a conscious effort to walk in the house bringing acceptance and patience. Then, my husband can feel at ease and be open to show me affection. He doesn’t have to worry that I will walk in prepared to complain about the mess or the dishes on the counter from two nights ago. Walk in peace and strut with a quiet confidence. Walk like a 10.

8. Mind:  “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:2

If you turned your mind inside out, would it be beautiful? Or is your mind wasting away with toxic thoughts and poisonous beliefs. The way you think determines the way you act and speak. What are you showing people about your mind? We do live in a spiritual world where forcers darkness and negativity are real. Other people and society have impact on our thought life as well. But we have been given a sound mind, one that is able to take every thought captive that doesn’t serve us well. Dwell on truth, goodness, kindness and love. You will feel happier and you will be a great asset to your future. Think like a 10.

9: Heart: “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” Matthew 5:8

Being able to see and hear from God is probably the most powerful and exciting thing that we get to do. God says we have access to see Him and everything about him when our hearts are pure. Two things that prevent us from seeing God is unforgiveness and thanklessness. If there is someone or a multiple people in your life that you haven’t forgiven yet, remember that forgiving is more for your own freedom. God forgives us an unlimited amount of times, quickly and effortlessly. So who are we to hold it back from someone else? Unforgiveness doesn’t protect us from getting hurt again, it is like swallowing poison and expecting someone else to die. So keep your heart pure from the poison of holding grudges and be express your gratitude in big ways for the smallest things. You’ll start to see God more. Bless like a 10.

The fact is, you are already designed as a 10. God made you, it’s up to you to claim it and agree with the wonderful, fearful woman you are.

“She didn’t marry him because he completed her. They were two whole people who made a powerful team.” Kristen Dalton Wolfe

This is a wonderful post! I am going to share it to my FB friends (with credit given to you) in hopes that at least one female may evaluate heart attitude towards herself & others. I honestly believe that I aquire these traits. However, I can use some work on defining myself. One aspect in particular that I would like some guidence in would be hearing & seeing God. How do I go about just simply (although it is not easy) hearing from Him? I would really appreciate a response. Btw, thank you for having such a kind & giving heart, Kristen!

Thanks for the inspiration in this article. I hope to be the woman you describe one day. Sometimes you can’t be the person you truly are because of other peoples negativity. Honestly it’s been a daily struggle to stay positive. When you find that you can’t even focus on daily activities you know you are in trouble. There have been days where I have felt like the life was being sucked out of me. Days that I have felt like I was drowning because of others problems. That’s why I have been trying to get back to my old self after so many years of thinking about everyone but me. I turned back to music which I had enjoyed so much years ago and it helps me tremendously. Friends support helps more than anything. Again thank you and keep on writing because I just think you are a wonderful artist. I want to see you write a book one day!!
