Psalm 138:8 The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, Lord, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands.
Cheers to the college grads who are living at home, still looking for the right job, and through it all never giving up on their dreams!
The time after college graduation is so different from high school graduation – that was fun and exciting, now this is scary and adulthood. It is ok to feel that way! The unknown is uncomfortable.
But change should also be exciting! This is the moment you become the person you were meant to be, not only through career goals but in personal ambitions as well. This is can be a trying season in your life. Embrace it and have faith that you are in God’s hands. Those who face great trials and walk in faith will be triumphant.
James 1:2-4 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
God will not bring you to your next season until He knows you are ready. Trust in His timing and know that He is preparing your life for His divine purpose.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.
I recently graduated from college and I am still on the path to finding my ideal career. More than anything, I have dedicated this summer to strengthening my relationship with God. I have been praying endlessly for clarity, guidance, and direction towards fulfilling my God given life purpose.
I want to share my divine appointment with you. It is so awesome that I’m almost afraid to share it because I’m fearful people won’t believe me. But I’m taking a leap of faith because I know fear is not from God. This vision changed my life so my hope is that it resonates with you too.
This summer I took my twin cousins, Lauren and Andrew to the pool where I ran into a gentleman named Dr. Artherholt. My mother had worked for him for several years. He had since retired from being a doctor and became a pastor. He has become the most inspirational Christian in my life.
We caught up on the last five years. I told him about college, joining the Chi Omega sorority, finding my passion for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and my new journey with pageantry. Looking back, it is amazing to see God’s timing at work.
Dr. Artherholt began to tell me, “It is so humbling to see the powerful ways God is working in your life. He has truly blessed you. He is calling you for a greater life purpose and to help God’s children. God is powerfully using you as a leader amongst your peers. Clarity is coming. Believe in Him, continue to walk in faith, and He will prepare you and guide you.”
At that moment, I started to cry. Those were the perfect words answering my prayers for guidance, career direction, and most of all clarity! I had been praying that prayer for exactly 40 days and 40 nights. Tears streamed down my cheeks.
Dr. Artherholt continued to pray asking God to give me eyes to see and ears to hear His message. He prayed that God send His angels to protect me and guide me. We prayed this in Jesus Christ’s name, Amen.
I immediately felt electrified by the Holy Spirit. Do not pass a moment by as coincidence, God is constantly at work in our daily lives. As I gathered up my little cousins; we all said our good byes, shared hugs, and left. Seconds after my car had exited the driveway, I felt as though I was going to faint. Terrified, because I was driving with two children in my car, my heart started beating faster, as I considered pulling over.
As I drove, I watched the road pass me in slow motion, almost as though time stood still. Then a light began to shine so bright through the trees that I lost sight of the road in front of me. Suddenly, the colors exploded into the most vibrant pigments I have ever seen and then I heard a voice. It was the most kind, strong, and caring voice I have ever heard. I believe it was Jesus. He said, “I will show you what most will not see.”
The vision was gone as quickly as it came. What seemed like thirty seconds was only a moment. I looked to in my rearview mirror to check Lauren and Andrew. They were completely un-phased, I knew that they had not seen what I had just seen.
We arrived at their house anxiously turning on the T.V. to watch Miss USA. Lauren had the greatest time as I watched her fall in love with pageantry – practicing her on stage walk, and jumping on the couch when her favorite girl in the pink dress, Olivia Jordan, won Miss USA 2015. After the pageant, I left thanking God for giving me the most perfect day with my family.
As I walked out of the house, I looked up towards the sky to see a group of delicate clouds, almost as if they had been painted. I took a photo, feeling like I needed more time to study the clouds. When I arrived home, I rotated the photo upside down and was in awe of what I saw. It was a perfect depiction of two crosses and a dove: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
That night I realized the words said to me in the vision were directly from the Bible verse Jeremiah 33:3 Call to me and I will show you great and unsearchable things you do not know. It was exactly as He had said, “I will show you what most will see.”
Since my encounter with God, I have competed at the Miss International pageant. Numerous Godly pageant women full of passion and ambition have come into my life! Kristen Dalton is one of those women. My first pageant experience was watching Kristen Dalton crowned Miss USA 2009 on live television. Six years later, Kristen has asked me to write for She Is More! How awesome is God’s plan!
I am still unsure of where God is leading me career wise but I know my passion is in philanthropy, children, and the entertainment industry. I have no doubt that He will lead me exactly where I am needed. God places every dream on your heart for a reason.
Luke 1:45 Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!
I pray that this message brings you peace and joy in knowing God’s will will be done in your life. Prayer is your most powerful possession. Speak your hopes and dreams to Him. God wants to know you and fulfill your purpose.
John 15:7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you.
